BPTree.to_npz(file)[source]#

Save the tree to a compressed NumPy .npz archive.

The parentheses bit array, node names, and branch lengths are stored; edge numbers are not. This is a lightweight binary dump, distinct from the registry-based write (which defaults to the newick format).

Parameters:

filestr or file-like object: Path or open file handle to write to.
