BPTree.deepest_node(i)[source]#

Index of the deepest node descending from a node.

Parameters:

iint: Index of the node to evaluate.

Returns:

int: Index of the deepest (most distant) tip descending from node i.

Notes

Returns an integer index into the parentheses bit array, not a node object. This is the tip that height returns as the second element of its (height, tip) result.
